How To Declutter Your Old Hunting Gear

After hunting season gets done with, you may notice that your garage or wherever you store all of your hunting gear may look like a tornado has hit it. Have you ever considered that maybe it is time to declutter some of your old hunting gear? The perfect time to go through all of your gear and equipment is when you are not using it, and it may be time to get rid of or replace things to better prepare for the next hunting season!

Ground Blinds

One of the most common pieces of gear that often needs to be replaced is your ground blinds. Because they are left out in the elements, the fabric will often fade, get brittle, and tear. Even the rods and poles that they use to stay up will break under the wind and snow. Even high-end ground blinds are susceptible to this fate. Go through your ground blinds and toss out any that can easily be replaced with a new one. I personally prefer to buy the cheapest ground blinds I can, since I find that they are usually just as good as the expensive ones. This makes replacing them much easier to manage, and I can even afford to keep a spare one or two during the season in case I need it.

Hiking Boots and Clothes

These are items that will eventually wear out over time, no matter what brand you are using. Camo patterns will fade, stitches will tear, and boots will get worn out. Now is the perfect time to replace these types of items in order to better prepare for the coming season, and getting rid of old camo or pairs of boots can really declutter fast!

Trail Cameras

Trail cameras are similar to ground blinds. They stay outside in the elements for months on end, and this will eventually catch up to them. Technology also evolves at a rapid pace, and old trail cameras are often outdated in just a year or two anyway. Go through your trail cameras and replace any that are worn out or that have stopped working properly, as you don’t want to miss a picture of that buck of a lifetime.
